Just 12 days ago Majid Freeman also recorded Hindu children at Janmashtami festivities and asked the police to remove a Hanuman flag. Majid Freeman has been spotted attempting to disrupt another Hindu celebration – Ganesh Chaturthi, where he asks the police to stop the pre-planned celebrations in spite of no legal wrongdoing. Just 12 days ago Majid attended Janmashtami celebrations in Leicester where he recorded children and families playing. He insinuated that a Ganesh flag was “extremism” and asked the police to remove it, which they declined to do.
Freeman is a social media influencer from Leicester, with a combined Instagram and X (previously Twitter) following of 50,000. In 2022, Majid was active in spreading fake news which directly resulted in violent attacks on Hindus, such as accusations that Hindu men had kidnapped a young Muslim schoolgirl, where he claimed to have spoken to the girl and her family. He also tweeted that Hindus were attacking a mosque, which was later proven to be untrue. Although Leicestershire Police confirmed that none of these social media posts were true, Majid continued to be platformed by the BBC, Guardian, ITV and Daily Mail, where he blamed violence exclusively on Hindus, although the majority of arrests the followed were non-Hindus. Majid has frequently been accused of Hinduphobia by Hindu and secular groups in the UK.
